"The body is my canvas, so to speak. I work for the body, it is my muse."

"We focus on the body but also try to explore the space around the body."

"Nature is really a big part of my work,"

"I like creating my own versions of it to try to translate the logic behind a system that works so perfectly."

IRIS VAN HERPEN

I decided to include this artist in my universe because I find her very inspiring, especially her collections integrating the organic side of marine creatures. Her fluid or rigid dresses seem to be extracted from science fiction movies. Yet "when I design a garment, I am very much inspired by reality" she said in an interview. (LeTemps 2017)

Her designs are a mix of craftsmanship and technological innovation.

The accompanying video of jellyfish represents Iris Van Herpen's latest collections for me.
